If the user's localised date format is available that would be ideal.
If not, please present dates (e.g. shown for auto-saved designs) in a way that avoids confusion between day and month numbers.
Month-day-year seems to be a US convention, with basically the rest of the world using either day-month-year or year-month-day.
When a four-digit year is used it's not going to be confused with the other two numbers, but day and month values definitely have an overlap. For example, I’m seeing “8/11/2025” on my auto-saved designs from todays testing, but that’s 8 November 2025 to me. It’s actually 11 August 2025.
Perhaps using text for the month part, will avoid much of the confusion without requiring actual localisation?
(I personally like yyyy-mm-dd as it sorts nicely and is reasonably unambiguous as there isn’t a convention with the month and day swapped around, but it’s a bit geeky.)
