Automatically show the most recent refinement when making multiple refinements

… otherwise it looks like it hasn’t done anything. At the moment, when a second or subsequent refinement finishes processing the screen still initially displays the first refinement (“Refined #1”). You need to manually scroll to see the results of the most recent refinement, which is counterintuitive.

    This is improved with the latest changes accessible on the site — thanks for that! :D — but there is one aspect that remains counterintuitive.

    After generating a design I requested a refinement, and the output was captioned “Refined #1”. So far so good.

    But then I requested another refinement. The second refinement’s output was displayed straight away but it was captioned “Refined #1”, while the first refinement had been changed to “Refined #2”.

    I requested a further refinement, i.e. my third. This refinement was displayed straight away but it was captioned “Refined #1”. My second refinement became “Refined #2”, and my original refinement was now “Refined #3”. The renumbering of all refinements undoubtedly would have continued for any further refinements I made.

    My expectation is that the refinement numbering matches the order in which I make refinements, and that when I make a new refinement it is added to the end of the list, with the last image in the list automatically being displayed. I expect to scroll backwards to see earlier refinements (as it stands I need to scroll forwards).

    I’m guessing that starting image list display on the first image is the default behaviour of the presentation layer of the infrastructure being used, and that the refinement image list has been populated in descending order because of that (last refinement = first object in image list). I don’t know what tools or environment you’re using — apart from NeonDB/Postgres being in there somewhere due to an earlier error message ;) — but I would be shocked if there wasn’t a way to have the presentation layer start display of an image list on the last image, or on a specified n-th image. Doing that would keep the refinement numbering and navigation to past refinements logical.

    (Of course, maybe I am going to be shocked and what I’ve described isn’t technically possible after all! LOL If the latest approach is the only way to get the most recent refinement automatically displayed, it’s definitely better than having to scroll to see it.)

    Just adding that I definitely like the ability to see all the refinements! That’s a great new feature… the issue is that when I give the AI updated instructions I expect to see the result of those latest instructions.

      Yes that makes sense, have the latest refinement appear first.

        Thanks Reynard. Just adding that I think it would be worthwhile considering user experience factors like this (and the Gallery Before/After view browsing) when adding features to the roadmap, and including specific instructions on the workflow desired in the details provided to the development team. That will minimise rework and reduce user angst. If not specified these things might be completely overlooked, or implemented in a way that makes sense from a database point of view but not from the user’s perspective.
